Atalia Student Residences DAC – Data Protection Policy for Surveys

What data is collected?

Data collected in our surveys may include (but is not limited to):

  • name
  • nationality
  • student type, as applicable
  • staff/faculty type, as applicable
  • place of residence (if staying / having stayed on our premises)
  • date of arrival / date of departure

Note: please do not input any personal data that is redundant or superfluous, such as passport number or PPS number. Such Information will be deleted by Atalia upon receipt.

What is the purpose of this data collection?

The purpose of our surveys is to gather feedback on the services provided to you by us. We use the information gathered to monitor our performance, identify and address any issues, and to improve our future service.

We may contact respondents for the purposes of carrying out prize draws.

Data gathered may also be used for marketing research purposes, in line with our main Privacy Policies, linked at the bottom of this page.

How is your data processed?

We use Microsoft Forms to conduct surveys and Microsoft 365 to process data more generally. Please refer to the privacy policy for more information.

How long will your data be stored?

The personal data you submit via our surveys will be held by us for 24 months and deleted thereafter.

However, should you wish to request that personal information collected about you is deleted before 24 months, you can do so by emailing gdpr.atalia@universityofgalway.ie
